Sephi-matic® filtration systems separate fluids by means of ceramic membranes. Stand-alone or in combination with other processing equipment turn-key filtration units provide a wide range of solutions for various liquid waste streams. With concentration ranges up to 1:1000 substantial savings in disposal costs can be achieved. The turn-key systems are also used for in-line purification and concentration of various process streams.
Sephi-matic® systems are based on the cross flow principle. All systems are equipped with micro- and ultra- filtration monohole tubular ceramic membranes.
Contaminated feedstock is pumped through the membranes:
Clean liquid passes through the membrane layer (permeate):
Is partly circulated by means of a circulation pump over the membrane with new feedstock and
Is partly taken off for further processing or discharge.
All systems are equipped with a back-pulse system. Due to the unique properties of ceramic membranes they can on-line be cleaned by means of reversing the flow through the membrane, so called back-pulsing. By doing so the filtercake is pushed away from the membrane surface and thus cleans. In addition to this ceramic membranes can periodically be cleaned with standard cleaning chemicals.
For more than 10 years these advanced systems have been produced. Ranging from 0.1 m2 to 30 m2 filter surface the systems are successfully being used on a wide range of feed stocks. Fluids that are treated on a day to day basis with our systems are, amongs others:
Oil/water emulsions
Solvents
Degreasers
Thermal heating oil
PVC dispersions
Paints
Brines
Etc.
Systems can be equipped with fully automatic permeate/retentate ratio controllers. Combined with in-line fluid quality monitors and automatic sampling systems, turn-key solutions for fluid processing can be created. In addition to this fully automatic cleaning system can be added to the standard systems.
