Gas fired infra red drying, curing and fixation unit
Features
The ECOTherm belt type furnace is a new, but well proven, concept for belt type furnaces. This allround piece of thermal equipment can be used for various drying and curing of fixation processes. The ECOTherm combines effective drying with an exceptional high efficiency. Due to the unique combination of gas-fired infra red ceramic foam burners, an intensive hot-air circulation and thorough insulation, the operational costs are exceptionally low.
Description
The frame of the belt dryer is completely built of stainless steel. The insulating panels are made of plastisol coated sheetmetal, in eiher a blue or grey colour. The dryer is equipped with 3 to 4 rows of burners that radiate infra red energy towards the belt. Furthermore the hot air that comes out as a by product of the infra red burners is circulated through the tunnel in order to distribute and maintain a set product temperature. This combination of infra red and hot air results in a very efficient use of energy, combined with improved product quality control.
The control unit comprises of two control loops; burner capacity by means of a PID controller and thermocouple as well as frequency controlled conveyor belt speed by means of a potentiometer. The fluegas discharge duct is equipped with a moter operated butterfly valve in order to regulate the amount of hot air circulation.
Operational costs
In comparison with traditional drying and fixations units (hot air, thermal oil or electrical infra red) the operational expenses per running hour can be up to 75% lower. These low operational costs are mainly due to the high efficient burners and the re-use of hot air.
